摘要
The ongoing effort of foreign language teachers is to seek new opportunities to facilitate the learning process and to make it more efficient. The "Littera" project, which was conducted at the Faculty of Education, University of Hradec Kralove, during the period of 1st October 2010 30th September 2013, united linguistic departments and focused attention, apart from other topics, on the development of reading comprehension skills and listening comprehension skills. Within the scope of one of the key activities of the project, a databank of texts intended for reading and listening to in the classroom and during self-study of the German language was created. The databank is based on the principles of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the European Language Portfolio for the age groups of 11-14 years and 15-19 years at Al, A2 and B1 levels. The paper describes the process of creation of this new educational instrument and the possibility of its use in both teaching and self-study of students.
