摘要
Millimeter-wave (mmW) range for 5G communication is an innovative field of research that allows communication at ultra-high speed with low latency. Patch antennas due to their compact nature and multiband behavior are of great interest for 5G wireless communication. In this paper, triband H-shaped slotted monopole antenna is designed and its higher-order modes are presented in terms of resonant frequencies. The resultant impedance bandwidth confirms its triband characteristics by covering the frequency bands 27.25-28.04 GHz, 38.93-39.63 GHz and 58.22-61.38 GHz. The proposed antenna efficiently covers the two licensed 28 and 39 GHz bands for 5G device to device and cellular communication and one ISM 60 GHz band for Wi-Gig application. Antenna has maximum radiation efficiency of 82%, 91% and 88%, directivity of 6.94 dBi, 10.2 dBi and 8.82 dBi, and unidirectional radiation characteristics at 28/39/60 GHz, respectively. Henceforth, the proposed antenna finds its suitable application in 5G mobile communication and the results obtained from experiment and simulation are in good agreement. In addition, a lumped element RLC equivalent model of the design is explained and its results are compared with the proposed antenna.
