摘要
MTF transgender women are a marginalized group at risk for a variety of health problems, including HIV infection. This article detailed the development and implementation of an educational program that focused on HIV prevention in the MTF transgender community in South Miami Beach, Florida. HIV prevention education programs targeted to MTF transgender women can be successful if they are flexible and culturally sensitive to the needs of this community. More research is needed to test the ability of HIV prevention programs targeted to transgender women to reduce the risk of HIV infection. © 2010 Association of Nurses in AIDS Care.
