China's New Rural Pension Insurance System Must Be Accelerated

From 2009, China's new rural pension insurance system will be gradually established in the whole country, which will make the farmers realize the goal of "farming without taxes, receiving education without fee, and seeing the doctor with cheap bill" as well as "no worry about the life in the aged years". At the same time, this system is another firm and steady step to co-ordinate urban dan rural development and to eliminate urban-rural structure of governance. However, the time interval from pilot to national implementation is up to 10 years. Therefore, forceful measures must be taken to allow the benefits of agricultural policy reach to every farmer so as to maximize its performance in promoting development and maintaining stability.
