Supercontinuum Generation with a Repetition Rate over 100MHz Based on a Picosecond Pulse from a Normal Dispersion Fiber Laser

摘要
An all-fiber supercontinuum (SC) source with a repetition rate of over 100 MHz is experimentally demonstrated for the first time. The SC is generated by introducing the pulse output from a normal dispersion fiber laser into high nonlinearity fibers (HNLFs). An erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) and single segment single mode fiber (SMF) are used to compress the pulsewidth to increase pulse peak power. Finally, we can successfully obtain a SC with 10 dB bandwidth of over 500nm. In particular, the spectrum at the C-band is flat with a power fluctuation of less than 3 dB. All those features verify the SC an excellent local oscillator source for linear optical sampling application.
