The Information Infrastructure at ETH Zurich

The article in hand gives an overview about the present situation concerning the status of Information support at a big science and technique-focused university, which plays a very specific role for a small country beyond science, research and education. Besides to achieve the classic tasks of a university, the university's outreach into the society is also not of little importance. On the one hand the paper outlines the Integration of the university and its library into a national context and describes on the other hand those services, which outrun the traditional tasks of a science library. In this context some especially user-focused developments are discussed in more detail.
