PSYCHOLOGY IS THE SCIENCE OF THE FUTURE

Some problems raised in the article by A.L. Zhuravlev, T.A. Nestik and A.V. Yurevich (2016) on the forecast of the development of psychological science and the discussion presented in the pages of the Psychological Journal. The necessity of the development of Russian science in the context of the world, which preserves its cultural specificity, is argued. It is shown that the challenges of the technogenic evolution are a continuation of the development of mankind and require further psychological study. The forecasts of the development of psychology presented by the authors of the work under discussion and the forecasts of foreign leading scientists about the development of science in the next fifty years are compared. It is concluded that the forecast for the development of psychology is the most important step in asserting, defending the place of psychological science in the scientific field and a step towards consolidating the efforts of the entire psychological community.
