Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis for Validating the Moral Competency Questionnaire

This EFA and CFA were used to investigate distinctive results and measurement values in establishing construct validity of moral competence questionnaire. Expert reviews were used for questionnaire evaluation before the questionnaire for pilot testing is finalized. Out of 20 items generated from interviews, 8 items were withdrawing. In this study, moral competence questionnaire is investigated, construct validity is established, and the feasibility of the application. From 324 random sampling, 205 responses were collected. EFA has extracted two-factor structure with satisfactory measure of sampling adequacy (0.817; p < 0.00), acceptable factor loadings > 0.50 and internal consistency of 0.813. The model fit indices in CFA are acceptable chi-square: 113.471, df: 5, GFI: 0.920, NFA: 0.835, TLI: 0.870 and RMSEA: 0.077. The AVE was < 0.50 with r < r-square. Result shows moral competence questionnaire can be applied to measure the extent of moral knowledge and moral practice of business executive in reasoning their moral act.
