摘要：
The paper analyses the results of laboratory and field tests performed at an experimental site located in Ouarzazate (Morocco). At this site, loading tests on footings were executed on expansive clays at different stages of wetting. The clay becomes more deformable and less resistant during the process of wetting and the rate of loading influences the deformation process.
