摘要
This paper presents a plasma Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) with gain and pattern reconfigurability. It consists of a 3D printed DRA and a controllable plasma lump bulb. By changing the excitation state of the plasma, the proposed DRA achieves tunable gain and reconfigurable radiation pattern. The simulated antenna peak gains with turning on and off the plasma are 4.8 dBi and 8.0 dBi respectively. During the reconfiguration, the antenna keeps a wide impedance bandwidth of 51.7% and AR bandwidth of 50.4% The proposed 3D printed plasma DRA is fabricated and measured for verification. It is low-cost and easy to install, which is suitable for indoor IEEE 802.11b WLAN and other applications.
