Offers a short review of (a) how Canadian government institutions have revisited their need for real-time information on citizens, social trends, and other critical intelligence; (b) how this dynamic only resuscitates the informational drive of previous eras in public administration; and (c) how new intensive data techniques disrupt expectations around both how to organize information and how to protect sensitive subsets for privacy reasons.
