摘要
MIPv6 (Mobile IPv6) is an IP layer mobility management protocol proposed by IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). Handover latency is the key factor that influences the MIPv6 performance. This paper proposes an analytical modeling to analyze the handover latency of MIPv6 and its extensions. We also study the influence of various parameters on handover latency. Numerical results show that the effects of different parameters on the handover latency in these protocols are not the same. Different protocol has different merits and demerits.
