摘要
Packaging is becoming increasingly lighter and cheaper, and plastics packaging is supporting this trend with technical developments pointing a long way into the future. This trend reflects a continued increase in the efficiency of packaging, given that the products that were packaged at the time are still protected by packaging now. The customers are calling for more. However, developments in convenience packaging are indicators for quality and reliability. Polymers will play a decisive role in all the developments presented, either as a base material, as components with a special barrier function, as sensors or as indicators.
