Effect of YF3 on weld microstructure and performance of titanium alloy TC4 in TIG welding

摘要
The effect of additive YF3 on weld microstructure and mechanical performance of titanium alloy TC4 in Activating Tungsten Inert Gas (A-TIG) welding was experimentally investigated. The results show that the weld grains of titanium alloy were refined after introducing the YF3 into the weld in A-TIG welding. This would achieve the better weld mechanical properties in comparison to that of welds by the conventional TIG welding.
