Nanocrystalline Ag-CdO powders by mechanical alloying

摘要
Single-phase or multiphase polycrystalline materials with a gram size below 100nm can be fabricated by techniques like thermal spray deposition, inert gas condensation, crystallization of amorphous precursors, mechanical alloying and others. Present work deals with-the synthesis of nanocrystalline silver - cadmium oxide composite powders for electrical contact application by mechanical alloying; followed by their characterization using x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microcopy (SEM), atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) etc. Effect of process parameter like attrition speed on crystallite size and lattice strain of the milled powder has been studied.
