Dual-polarized High-Gain High-Isolation Antenna Array for Millimeter-wave Applications

摘要
In this paper, a dual-polarized aperture-coupled microstrip patch antenna array with a high-gain high-isolation low cross-polarization levels, and low-backward radiation level is designed and its features are presented. The proposed configuration allows the scalability of the array size with daul polarization feeding network at two different layer. The antenna uses the slot-coupled feed for one polarization, while the microstrip line feed with slotted ground plane is used for the other polarization. It can make good use of the space on both sides of the ground plane, as the feed circuits for two orthogonal polarizations are placed on each side of the ground plane, respectively. Dielectric lens is used to improve the gain of small size array performance. The proposed 16-element array is presented at mm-Wave applications yields a bandwidth of more than 12.6%, with high-gain around 30 dBi and isolation below 35 dB. High gain with good isolation are obtained, and the cross-polar levels are below -33 dB at both E-plane and H-plane.
