Investigations on solving electromagnetic scattering by characteristic basis function method

摘要
The characteristic basis function method (CBFM) is applied to analyze the electromagnetic scattering problems. According to the conceptions of grouping and high level effect, characteristic basis functions (CBFs) in different level are constructed on large blocks and used to generate a size-reducing matrix equation. This paper gives some observations on CBFM and also proposes a new approach for generation of the CBF matrix equation, which can simplify the calculation of the CBF impedance matrix, important for the reduction of storage and computational time. Numerical results show the validation of the proposed approach.
