Microwave sintering of yttria-zirconia ceramics for SOFC using

3,4,5,6,7, 8mol% Yttria-Zirconia ceramics were studied. The densification, electric conductivity, and mechanics properties were examined and compared with that of conventionally sintered samples. It was found that microwave sintering enhanced densification in some condition. It was shown that the soaking time of 10 min is enough to sinter somesamples by microwave heating The mechanical properties and electric properties are different regulation between microwave and conventionally sintered samples; some microwave sintered samples have higher bending strengths and conductivity than those by conventional sintering.
