摘要
Nuclear fission of U-238 projectiles at 750A MeV, impinging on a beryllium target, was used to produce about 60 new neutron-rich isotopes. Most of them were identified in the region of chromium to technetium, including the doubly magic nucleus Ni-78(28). Due to the kinematics of the fission reaction at relativistic energy, the fragment separator (FRS) at the GSI, Darmstadt, allows to separate fission fragments produced after fission of the projectile and to identify both, their mass and their nuclear charge. Indications for a low-energy fission process can be found. The isotopic evolution of production cross sections is presented.
