Genomic aberrations in multiple myeloma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia are important independent predictors of disease progression and survival. These genomic findings may help further classify these diseases in subgroups according to their prognosis. These genomic findings if found early in the course of disease will likely have implications for the design of future risk-adapted treatment strategies.
