摘要
Numerical Modelling of Crack Propagation in Porous CVl-CFC Composites. A combination of stress and energy based criteria is used in literature for description of the crack propagation in brittle materials. Combining these results with an incremental energy balance during crack growth, an algorithm for computation of crack propagation is deduced. This algorithm is utilised in the simulation of crack behaviour in porous materials considering the following two different micro structures: 1. Modelling of the typical CVI-CFC microstructure based on the micrographs of the cross section of a specimen. From this modelling, simulation of the crack propagation is compared with results of the 4-point-bending experiment. 2. Idealized, porous material with circular pores. By analysing the obtained results, it is possible to predict the crack development in the authentic microstructures.
