The complexes [Ru(Met)(2)(L)(2)]Cl (HMet=methionine, L=izoniazid, alpha -aminopyridine. 1,2-dimethyl-5-nitroimidazol), [Ru(Hip)(2)(L)(2)]Cl (HHip=hipuric acid, L=izoniazid, 1,2-dimethyl-5-nitroimidazol) and [Ru(Met)(2)(L)(2)] (HL=5, 7-dicloro-8-hydroxiquinoline) haven been prepared and characterised on the bases of their elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements and electronic and IR spectral data. The methionine, hipuric acid and 5, 7-dicloro-8-hydroxiquinoline ligands act as bidentates and coordinate through nitrogen and oxygen atoms, whereas the izoniazid, alpha -aminopyridine and I,2-dimethyl-5-nitroimidazol ligands act as monodentates with nitrogen co-ordination to Ru(lll) ion. The Ru(lll) ion is hexacoordinate whit an octahedral environment.
