摘要
The purpose of this study is to investigate a group of 29 advanced Chinese EFL learners' experiences and perceptions of an online collaborative writing project called OGSW. It is found that participants enjoyed the surprises, collaboration and creativity involved; that challenges encountered include difficulty in understanding what was written by peers, writer's block and inadequate English, and that participants believe OGSW is beneficial in that it improves English proficiency, thinking ability and communication skills by creating a sense of community, enhancing confidence, and restoring some participants' interest in English writing. Experiences and perceptions of OGSW participants reveal that technology does help to motivate EFL learners to write, yet technology needs to be aligned with innovative pedagogy to transform learning.
