The Institute for Particle Technology at the University of Wuppertal carries out studies with the the aim to clarify how far the efficiency of water spray reducing fine dust emissions can be increased by electrostatic influence. For this purpose, conventional two-fluid nozzles are provided with specially developed attachments and subsequently characterized in terms of generated droplet charges and droplet size distributions. In collaboration with an industrial partner, the particle separation behavior of the newly developed water dispersing system is examined in a wind tunnel.
