Axially Chiral Anilido-Aldimine Aluminum Complexes with a Pseudobinaphthyl Skeleton

摘要
Axially chiral anilido-aldimine aluminum complexes with a pseudobinaphthyl skeleton 3a and 3b have been prepared. X-ray analysis indicates that complex 3b adopts a conformation similar to that of 1,1'-binaphthyls. The racemization barrier of 3a was determined to be 23.0 kcal mol(-1), which was higher by ca. 4 kcal mol(-1) than the corresponding diarylamine precursor with an N-H-N hydrogen bond.
