A theoretical procedure to calculate aplanatic cemented doublets

摘要
A theoretical method is proposed to calculate achromatic and aplanatic cemented doublers for telescope objectives, with spherical aberration corrected up to the fifth order. The glass is fixed for one of the lenses and the formulae obtained permit all possible glasses for the other lens giving doublers with the aforementioned characteristics, to be found. It has been verified that the results calculated using this method match those obtained by raytracing.
