摘要
Many effective workers find, over time, that they need improved management skills. The CS&H industry is large and faces difficult management challenges. This ARC-funded project investigates operation of the Frontline Management Initiative (FMI) in the CS&H industry, in partnership with an ITB. Eleven FMI provider and eleven FMI user organisations were interviewed, including large and small, country and city, and public and private. Individual participants in the FMI programs were then surveyed. Focus group discussions will be undertaken later. The paper outlines the findings from the providers, the user enterprises. Various strengths and weaknesses of the FMI in this industry are identified, with possible improvements (e.g. in assessment, consistency and equity) and areas for further research.
