摘要
Geopolymer Concrete (GPC) has gained a lot of research attention over the last few decades because of its potential to contribute to sustainable growth in both the industrial and construction sectors. The use of traditional Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) has been questioned extensively due to its high carbon emis-sion during its manufacturing process. Hence, the use of various industrial waste materials which are rich in silica and alumina such as Fly ash (FA), Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS), Silica Fume (SF) Rice Husk Ash (RHA) etc. as a replacement of OPC in manufacturing concrete have been widely appreci-ated because of its ability to curb carbon emission. This paper reviews the recent advancements in GPC in terms of fresh, hardened and durability properties. The research findings in this paper successfully explain why GPC can be a satisfactory alternative to OPC-based concrete. Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
