摘要
Two types of filler that can take up HCI in plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) during its combustion have been investigated. Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) are very effective HCI absorbers and their uptake ability is significantly affected by the particle size and loading of the fillers. The synergy of the two fillers in taking up HCI is consistent with the result of TGA analysis, and its mechanism is also postulated. The effects of fillers on the mechanical properties and oxygen index of the plasticized PVC are also investigated. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
