Production technology and tests of ceramic filters for refining precision alloys

摘要
A technology for fabricating ceramic filters: of high-alumina, periclase. and silica compositions 130 mm in diameter and 20 - 40 mm thick with a pore size of 1 - 5 mm and a porosity of 75% is described. The filters have been tested for liquid metal permeation. The optimum pore size is shown to be 3 - 5 mm, and the heating temperature of the filter is 950 - 1000 degrees C.
