We have studied the magnetic properties of the archetypal heavy fermion compound CeCu6 in a wide temperature range, 100 mu K less than or equal to T less than or equal to 300 K, by means of static magnetization, AC susceptibility, heat capacity, and recently elastic neutron diffraction. We discuss our data in the frame of spin correlations between small uncompensated Ce-moments of size approximate to 0.1 mu(B). The features of the susceptibility curve (e.g. Weiss temperature theta approximate to - 3 T(chi(max))) as well as the temperature-dependent intensity of the [101]-reflection (orthorhombic notation) favour the occurrence of an antiferromagnetic ordering transition at T-N = 2.5 mK.
