摘要
When tactually exploring an object, kinesthetic and tactile information are fused and lead to the spatial perception of this object. In natural settings, the signals originate from the same source: when a fingertip moves and receives tactile signals, the kinesthetic signals come from the same hand. We explore the plasticity of tactile-kinesthetic combination by separating these signals between distinct body parts, directing the tactile signals to a stationary hand while the other hand moves. The demo is split in two parts. In the first one, kinesthetic and sensory information originate from the same hand. In the second one, kinesthetic information comes from one moving hand while the other hand feels the sensory consequence of this movement.
