摘要
Fire blight caused by Erwinia amylovora is an endemic and occasionally very destructive disease of apples in southwest Idaho. With the objective of identifying varieties less susceptible to fire blight (shoot blight) under local conditions, 14 commercial apple varieties, one crabapple pollenizer and one rootstock were evaluated during 1997 to 1999 in a field experiment at Parma, Idaho, USA. The apple varieties 'Arlet', 'Braeburn', 'Cameo', 'Early Spur Rome', 'BC 2 Fuji', 'Myra Fuji', 'Nagafu-6 Fuji', 'Scarlet Gala', 'Ginger Gold', 'Nured Jonathan' and 'Pink Lady', and the rootstock 'M.26' were classified as highly susceptible. Some inoculated trees in this group were killed by fire blight. The crabapple pollenizer 'Snowdrift' and the apple variety 'Delicious' were less susceptible. 'Enterprise' and 'Liberty' were the least susceptible among the apple varieties evaluated in this study.
