Learning in Environmental Education in the school context: understanding Elementary School students

摘要
This article is a cutout of the master's in Teaching thesis about an environmental education work that has been developed with elementary school students, since June 2012, in a public school in Imperatriz MA/BRA: the Bacuri Verde Project - Adopt a Tree (PBV). The objective was to investigate the understanding of participating students about learning in environmental education. Regarding the methodology, it is a qualitative research, approaching the assumptions of multicase studies. Nine graduates and three current students were involved, a total of 12 participating. Semi-structured interviews were used to produce the data, which were recorded and transcribed in full. The data were analyzed using the Discursive Textual Analysis approach. The results showed that the meanings of environmental education consider references as experiences lived in the participants daily lives with PBV. It was understood that an environmental education is able to help subjects to know and connect better with the environment.
