Personality characteristics of patients with eating disorders in the light of the five-factor personality model

摘要：
The study presents an investigation of the relationship between pathological attitudes to eating and personality in clinical subjects receiving treatment for anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Personality and eating attitudes' were assessed. Personality was addressed in the theoretical framework of the Big Five factor model. Correlation and hierarchical regression analysis revealed a significant contribution of personality variables to eating attitudes. Neuroticism and extraversion predicted diet behaviour and bulimic behaviour. The results are discussed in the context of recent research.
