Research on Application of Volterra Model Prediction in EMD Terminal Extension

摘要
The end effect of EMD results in serious distortions in the results of EMD decomposition. In order to reduce the influence of the end effect on the process of decomposition, this paper introduces the chaotic sequence into the EMD, and proposes the use of Volterra model to solve the problem of end effect in EMD decomposition. A description is given of data entension technique principle based on Volterra model, that is, Volterra model of original data is constructed, and then the extension of data is done using this model. This method makes the end extension more reasonable, thus preventing cubic spline curve from swinging by a large amount at the ends and achieving an accurate EMD decomposition. A study of simulation signals shows that the extension restraints the end effect of decomposition. The application of this technique to the EMD decomposition of signal analysis of rotor achieves good effects.
