Rate of water transport through MF-4SK sulfocationic membrane

摘要
The permeability of an MF-4SK membrane (an analogue of Nation membranes) with respect to water is measured using water evaporation from the membrane surface and isotope labeling. The second method yields more reliable results. The rates of the isotope exchange of hydrogen and oxygen through the membrane coincide within the experimental error, suggesting the isotope transport to proceed through molecular diffusion.
