Sir Gavin Lightman QC died in 2020 aged 80. This short tribute provides an appreciation of the early and far-seeing support given by Sir Gavin Lightman (and other judges) to the development of mediation in its symbiotic relationship to the civil justice system in England & Wales through his decisions and speeches.
