摘要
High flow data is one of the most important information for river flood control and water management. The Price current meter is usually used to measure river velocity and discharge. However, it's difficult and dangerous to perform the measurement during typhoon and storm seasons. A measurement system, composing of Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), tethered ADCP boat, and remotely operated drive, is built as the alternate flow measurement. Regular flow measurements were conducted by using both Price current meter and ADCP at a gauging station in Zengwun river, located in southwestern Taiwan. In order to test the accuracy of high flow measurement, flow measurements also performed at the high discharge during typhoon Nanmado. The discharge measurement system was successfully used during the typhoon. The results show that the ADCP data are consisted with the data measured by Price meter. This implies that the developed measurement system has practical ability for river flow measurement.
