摘要
This paper presents test results and examples of improvements in electrical energy savings through increasing the efficiency of motor driven systems at LKAB, Kiruna. The first section presents results fi-om a Motor Project consisting of laboratory tests on motors and a technical and economical investigation carried out at LKABs pelletizing plant in cooperation with our electrical supplier Vattenfall, in the beginning of the 90s. Briefly we can confirm that there are differences between motors from different manufacturers and that we have seen that there is a large potential for improving energy savings when choosing motors. The second section describes improvements in selected motor drive systems for example conveyor drives and belt driven systems.
