The Road for 6G Multimedia Applications

摘要
During the past decades, Mobile Broadband Networks has popularized multimedia applications. The consumption growth of these services started with the advent of 3G Networks, and it continued increasing during the launch of 5G. It turned out that multimedia services became essential for the global economy generating a new wave of jobs and services. The reason for such popularity of multimedia applications was achieved by the way how those networks mobile generations allowed a wirelessly-connected community to trade goods online, offer services, and share resources in real-time with a good quality of experience for end-users. Hence, a new societal was created and designated as the digital economy. Therefore to support and facilitate new business models related to multimedia applications, it is imperative to present a historical view of the cellular network core entities responsible for its success. Furthermore, it is necessary to predict the novel concepts to lay the foundation of future wireless networks, also known as 6G. Therefore this paper will provide a view of the roadmap to pave the way for the new generation of multimedia services.
