How do students perceive the teaching and learning process of the physical education teacher?

摘要
The objective of the study is to analyze the perception of the students of the educational centers of the Metropolitan District of Quito (DMQ) about the teaching process. The changes that occur in society are very fast and teachers must have the ability to adapt to the environment and develop new teaching skills that contribute to achieve significant learning in students. A cross-sectional descriptive observational study was carried out, a question naire was administered in 20 educational centers and the data were analyzed with thes tatistical package SPSS v.24.0. In the descriptive and extensive phase, 1200 students participated. The results obtained show that physical education teachers have difficulties in: interdisciplinary work, the use of active methodologies, providing support permanently in class, effective communication in class and the design and selection of teachingre sources to enhance the learning in students. It is concluded that it is necessary to have ongoing training processes for teachers considering the identified needs that contribute to improving the teaching and learning process of physical education. The boys have higher scores in themeansthanthegirls and thestudentsoftheEighth Grade (EGB) and theThirdCourse (BGU) the scores obtained in the means do not exist a significant difference.
