Nonlinear buckling of elasto-plastic shallow conical shells

Using the plasticity deformation theory and assuming that the effective stress-strain relationship follows power-hardening law, the displacement differential equations for buckling deformation problem of elastoplastic shallow conical shells under uniform normal loading is derived in this paper. A new double perturbation method is proposed for solving the obtained nonlinear coupling differential equations. The dimensionless deflection at the shell center has been taken as the first perturbation parameter and tangent of the shell dip angle as the secondary one, then the approximation displacement solutions for the problem are obtained, and the critical load is given also One example is presented The results show that the proposed method is feasible and reliable.
