摘要
Fission fragment mass-ratio distributions have been studied for the reactions O-16+Pt-194, Mg-24+W-186 and Si-30+Hf-180 all forming the same compound nucleus (CN) Rn-210 at near barrier energies. The measured fission fragment mass-ratio variances for the three reactions were compared with statistical model calculations assuming CN formation. The mass variances of fragments from Mg-24+W-186 and Si-30+Hf-180 reactions show dramatic deviation from the CN behavior at near barrier energies. Present study shows a strong evidence for the onset of quasifission process in very asymmetric reactions and its strong entrance channel dependence at near barrier energies.
