摘要
In this technological era, inhabitants of metro cities choose to use private transport for commuting within the city limits inorder to get their job done. This results in more vehicular traffic on road which leads to congestation and pollution. Main reason behind people opting for their own transportation instead of public transportation is due to lack of flexibility, transit time in case of multiple transport changes, waiting time. All together decrease efficiency of that particular system. A new continuous transportation system with moving walkways is taken as an alternate for existing public transportation for shorter city commutes. In this work a moving walkway specialized for public transportation was designed and analyzed for a case study. The analysisperformed on the designed moving walkway has provided optimum results for application as a public transportation.
