摘要
The modern, knowledge-based society needs competent, well-trained people, able to use their knowledge, abilities and skills with maximum of efficiency. In such circumstances, learning asserts its place as a fundamental task of a society and a necessity for all people at all ages. Extending the learning period beyond childhood and adolescence stages, brings forth the problem of its specificity in adulthood. The present approach summarizes some of the most significant psychological characteristics of adults and their influence on the learning process as well as some of the barriers of learning at adult age.
