摘要
In an urban environment, the effect of vehicular traffic on propagation loss must be considered for accurate predictions. In contrast to the existing empirical approach that models the vehicular traffic as rising of the reflection surface, this paper presents a stochastic approach for realistic road traffic modeling. The proposed model uses traffic density as an input to predict propagation loss in presence of vehicular traffic. To account for high position obstacles like trees, lampposts and signboards, visibility model is used for path loss calculation. Monte Carlo simulation using the two ray model is carried out for estimating propagation loss characteristics in a street microcell. Results show good agreement with the modified upper and lower limits for propagation loss in presence of vehicular traffic.
