Nanostructure of silica fillers and reinforcement of SBR Elastomers - A fractal approach

摘要
Surface fractal dimensions (D,) of five silica fillers, of different types, were estimated from the nitrogen adsorption isotherms, using fractal extension of the Frenkel-Hasley-Hill theory. High correlation coefficients were obtained for silica filled rubber reinforcement parameters / D-s relations, indicating that the filler surface area and D, are dominant for prediction of reinforcement.
