摘要
In this study the central composite design was employed to optimize the biosorption of lead on to sargassum tenerrimum (brown algae) powder. The effects of operating parameters such as pH of aqueous solution (X-1), initial concentration of lead in aqueous solution (X-2), biosorbent dosage (X-3), and temperature of aqueous solution (X-4) over % biosorption of lead from aqueous solution were studied using response surface methodology. The optimum biosorption conditions were determined as pH of aqueous solution at 5.2, Biosorbent dosage (w) as 11.78 g/L, Initial lead concentration in aqueous solution, (C-o) at 4.74 mg/L and Temperature of aqueous solution (T) at 305.15 K. Under these conditions the predicted value of % removal of lead is 98.91. The response surface methodology is in good harmony with batch experimental values. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd.
