Associated with the benefits brought about by the process of industrialization over the last decades there have also been some less positive aspects such as increased consumerism and a high degree of exploitation of natural resources, contributing to an unbalanced path on the evolution of the planet both in human and environmental terms. One of the areas of highest concern to policy-makers, seeking to ensure a more sustainable development of countries, is the growing increase in energy consumption. One solution to address this problem is the implementation of energy efficiency measures. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the energy consumption and respective costs in the facilities of a Militar Organization, followed by an analysis of the implementation of several energy efficiency measures. The results obtained put in evidence the need for an adequate energy management of buildings, which contributes to the reduction of electricity bills, air pollution, and decreases the need for future energy investments. Furthermore, understand the importance of energy management and raising the awareness of people is fundamental for achieving an efficient use of energy.
